Ross Ling

Violin

Ross Ling is an inspiring and creative violinist who currently resides in British Columbia. Born in Taiwan, she started learning the violin at the age of 11. By the age of 14, she had won many prizes in various forms of competitions in orchestral, chamber, and solo categories.

After immigrating to British Columbia with her family at the age of 18, she continued her studies at the University of Victoria and studied with the violinist of the Lafayette String Quartet, Sharon Stanis. While in school, she fully immersed herself into performing orchestral music with UViSO as well as chamber music with colleagues. In 2018, she was selected to play in the violin master class with Concertmaster of the National Arts Centre, Yosuke Kawasaki. Her string quartet was appointed to play in the open house of the Ideal Festival at UVic, School of Music. She has also played the solo Bach competition at the school where she placed third.

Ross has graduated with a Bachelor degree in Violin Performance from the University of Victoria. She teaches students from beginners to advanced levels.
