When does the regular school year start?

The British Columbia Conservatory of Music is open for lessons throughout the entire year. The regular school year begins the first day after Labour day and lasts until the end of June. Please check the school calendar for teaching days and holiday closures.

What is the BCCM tuition fee policy?

Regardless of the date of enrollment, tuition fees are due in advance until the end of June. In the case of a theory course where there is a set course length, payment is required until the end of the term. Registration will not be accepted and lessons will not begin until full payment has been received by BCCM office.

What are the payment methods?

1. Monthly Post-dated Cheques dated for the first of each month and submitted before the first lesson.
2. Monthly Pre-authorized Debit with submission of a void cheque.
3. Full Tuition Payment with credit card, debit card, cheque or cash.

What happens if I miss a lesson?

In the case of missed lessons, at least 24 hours notice must be given to the teacher in order for a make up lesson to be considered. Each teacher has a different make up policy, which can be discussed at the interview or first lesson. Contact must be directly to the teacher if a lesson is to be missed.

Are music lesson tax deductible?

The British Columbia Conservatory of Music is registered with the British Columbia Ministry of Education as a post-secondary institute which enables it to issue tax deductible receipts to registered students in accordance with Revenue Canada guidelines. The current guidelines for tax receipts are as follows. The British Columbia Conservatory of Music is able to issue T2202 slips to students who are 16 years of ago or above or if they are currently studying any course that is Grade level 9 or higher, this includes both practical and theory courses.
