Carol Zhang

Piano

Carol completed her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance at Boston University and has been studying piano since the age of 4. Over the years, Carol has garnered local, regional and national accolades for her outstanding performances and musicianship. She was under the tutelage of Donna Fishwick, and was an active member of the Donna Fishwick Piano Ensemble. She had the opportunity to tour Europe in 2008 and North America in 2011, while appearing in prestigious venues such as the Lichtenstein Palace in Prague, the Bosendorfer Recital Hall in Vienna, and the Steinway Hall in New York City.

Carol attended the Music Festival Perugia in Italy during the summer of 2011, and the Seattle Young Artist Music Festival in 2012. While in Perugia, she performed with the Munster Hochschule Orchestra at the famous Castiglione Del Lago and the Sala Dei Notari, and also actively participated in master classes taught by well-known pianist Ilana Vared, and Lang Lang’s teacher Gary Graffman.

As a soloist, Carol has appeared with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra on two separate occasions, Lions Gate Sinfonia, and was featured on the Richmond Review “30 under 30” Newspaper. Carol is a student-centric instructor who champions students’ achievements while also promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
