Mina McKenzie

Mina McKenzie began her piano studies at the age of 5 studied at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music under Susan Ouyang.

Both a soloist and a chamber musician, Mina has performed concerts and recorded works with Redshift Music Society, UBC Robson Square Concerts, SUM Gallery, Canadian Music Centre, 100.5 Radio, CiTR Radio, Vancouver Women’s Musical Society, and Canadian Music Week (Maria’s Records/Paradalis Studio). She has performed as a soloist with the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra and the Coquitlam Youth Orchestra.

She is a prize winner of numerous competitions such as the Pacific Youth Piano Festival, Vancouver Women’s Musical Society Competition, Architecture of Music Competition, 27th Bjorn & Lori Hareid Annual Senior Secondary Competition, Yarilo Contemporary Music Society Scholarship Competition, and the BC Performing Arts Festival.

As a collaborative pianist, she frequently records and performs as the piano/violin Matrix Duo with Jack Campbell, performs with the piano/violin/clarinet Magnolia Trio, and is the choral pianist for Maddalena’s Descant conducted by Kevin Zakresky.
