Stella Chen-Rozek grew up in China where she discovered her love of singing. She graduated from the China Conservatory of Music in 2005. Ms. Chen has been the recipient of numerous awards in China, and has appeared regularly on television.
After leaving China, Ms. Chen continued her studies in Canada and Europe. In 2007, she was awarded a full scholarship from the Vancouver Academy of Music where she received her Artist Diploma, studying with renowned voice teacher David Meek. Later she studied in Norway with Randi Stene.
Ms. Chen made her Canadian debut as a soloist in a Musical Journey concert at the Koerner Recital Hall which featured the music of China. She has given solo recitals at the Koerner Recital Hall and appeared in recitals sponsored by the Chopin Society of Vancouver. Her European performances include the Valdres Music Festival Norway, where she was also a faculty member. In 2014, Ms. Chen appeared as a recitalist and given masterclasses at the Henan Polytechnic University, China.
Ms. Chen is presently teaching at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music in Vancouver and is also pursuing a career in the performance of Art Songs and operatic concert repertoire.
