In addition to regular lessons and classes, there are competitions, numerous recitals, master classes, and ensembles available for all students.

1) Print and Complete the PDF of the
International Student Registration Form .

2) Completed applications sent via mail or FAX must include:
      • A copy of the student's birth certificate.
      • A copy of their transcript for the previous 10 months or most recent transcript.       

      • $250.00 CDN non-refundable application fee in the form of a money order, 
        wire transfer, Visa or Mastercard via email (do not mail cash).  
 

 3) Upon receipt of the above documents and application fee:
      • the student will be notified by email or fax of the status of their application 
      • if the student is accepted, 50% of the tuition fee must be sent.   

      • upon receipt of 50% of the tuition fee, the school will issue a Letter of Acceptance.

4) Take the "Letter of Acceptance"  to Canada Immigration in your home country and apply for a Student Visa.

General Information

Method of Payment
Tuition and other fees must be paid by certified cheque, money order, or TT ( wire transfer ). In order to secure your place in the program, students must send a deposit of 50% of the total tuition fee upon notification of acceptance into the program. The deposit will be applied towards the tuition fee. The balance of tuition is payable upon the student's arrival for their first day of classes. Upon payment of the balance of tuition, lessons will begin.

Refund Policy
Tuition fee refunds will only be given if the student applies to Canada Immigration for a Student Authorization within three weeks of the date the Letter of Acceptance is issued but is refused a Student Authorization to attend British Columbia Conservatory of Music. Documented evidence is required. In the event that the applicant is unable to obtain a student visa (documentation will be required) the BCCM will refund the deposit minus a $100 processing fee.

Accommodation
The cost of room and board with a family is on average $750 per month.  Please note that the monthly fee is a flat rate and must be paid even though the student returns home during Christmas and Spring vacations.

Living Expenses
Each student should have approximately $10,000 Canadian funds per year to cover miscellaneous expenses, school supplies, personal clothing/toiletries, restaurant meals, personal entertainment, etc.

Visa
If students wish to travel to the United States, they need to contact the United States consulate in their home country before coming to Canada.

Practice rooms for all Students.
Students entering the Conservatory at the diploma level are expected to practice two (2) to three (3) hours per day. This amount of practice time, focused on curriculum development, is considered to be part of the student's overall learning time and is essential for all students in order to make sufficient progress towards achieving their diploma. i.e. Practice time is included in the total number of hours spent at the conservatory on a part-time or full-time basis.

Letter of Acceptance
Please note that the official letter of acceptance will not be released until the deposit of 50% of the tuition fees plus the non-refundable application fee have been received by the BCCM.

Regular Attendance
Regular attendance is expected. Students registering for any of the above mentioned diploma level programs must attend lessons and practice-times regularly.

Homestay
Students may provide their own homestay family or one will be found for them.
