Andrea Brown

Andrea holds a Piano Teacher Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and is a Registered Music Teacher of B.C. and a member of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers. She has received extensive training through private instruction and Master Classes with some of Vancouver’s finest pedagogues. Passionate about music and teaching, Andrea has continued to further develop her own playing and broaden her knowledge regarding the interpretation of piano repertoire of advanced pianists.

Ms Brown has been teaching piano and theory for over 25 years with many of her students have achieved outstanding results. She is an active adjudicator and has frequently been invited to adjudicate for the BC Conservatory of Music, the St Thomas More Chancellor Music Festival and the Penticton Kiwanis Music Festival.

Former faculty member at the Kelowna Community Music School, she now teaches at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music. Andrea is a caring teacher whose love and passion of music continues to grow by the day. She enjoys teaching children as well as adults. One of her goals in teaching is always to instill a love of music into each student and to create and nurture a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Andrea also plays the cello and divides her time in practicing both instruments. She is married with two children and loves her pets, and enjoys spending time with family and friends and making her garden more beautiful each day.
